Oak Island is a coastal town in Brunswick County, North Carolina. The town sits on a barrier island right off the coast of North Carolina, which it shares with Caswell Beach. Oak Island’s main industry is tourism with its summer population ranging in the thousands.

Southport-Oak Island Area Chamber of Commerce – The Southport-Oak Island Area Chamber of Commerce supports local businesses by encouraging tourism to its area. The chamber offers advertising for businesses, promotes the history of its area, and organizes events.

Oak Island Lighthouse – Oak Island Lighthouse is recognized on the National Register of Historic Places and is the only entirely volunteer-ran lighthouse in all of North Carolina. Visitors are able to take a tour of the lighthouse and climb all the way to the top for a fantastic view of the ocean.

Oak Island Water Rescue – Oak Island Water Rescue is a non-profit, volunteer organization that responds to swimming and boating emergencies. The rescue works hand in hand with the police, fire department, and even the Coast Guard to ensure the safety of Oak Island residents and visitors.
