Ballantyne is a neighborhood on the southside of Charlotte, North Carolina. Initially, the area was a large hunting tract, but was converted into a master-planned community in 1992. Today, a couple famous people live in Ballantyne, including Hall of Fame NBA player and Most Valuable Player award winner Allen Iverson.

Ballantyne Ball – The Ballantyne Ball is an annual masquerade ball at the famous Ballantyne Hotel that benefits local businesses and charities, such as the mental health charity called Hopeway, in hopes of bettering its community.

Ballantyne Elementary School – Ballantyne Elementary School is the largest elementary school in Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools. The school prides itself on its diverse student body and the best-trained teachers and staff.
